Case of a test product - Altyor Nod-On

In June 2020, the NodOn brand of the Altyor Group called on our services to accelerate the launch of their connected floor switch to combat the spread of COVID-19.

For this project, we accompanied them in the 3D redesign. We co-worked the design to make it optimal for 3D printing while keeping plastic injection possible.

In order to make the product more ergonomic and intuitive, we proposed to add texture to highlight the switch's contact area.

The aim was to bring this product to market as quickly as possible in order to deliver to the first customers. We therefore carried out an express production of 500 parts in record time using our 3D printing technology.

NodOn was able to deliver its wireless switches only 1 month after the product idea!

This is an interesting solution: the financial risk involved in making injection moulds is always high.
With 3D printing, the unit manufacturing costs are often slightly higher, but the moulds do not exist. It is therefore an ideal way to test a new product or concept. It is also interesting to go fast: from idea to product in 1 month, which would not have been possible via other manufacturing methods!
