What is the POD
?
POD stands for "Production On Demand":
i.e. MANUFACTURING ON DEMAND.
You may be familiar with the term MOD, for "Manufacturing On Demand". This means manufacturing just-in-time according to customer demand, with the aim of limiting stocks as much as possible and optimising turnaround times.
This is what we have been doing since 2014 at DAGOMA. Historically for our own needs, and for the last 2 years for partners, friends and clients.
How does it work?
Quick and easy, just follow the process.
1. Design

From an existing 3D file, a sketch, a plan or a drawing we will prepare the part according to your needs.
2. Good to go

Once the model has been validated, we print a prototype for validation before production begins.
3. Production

Within a few hours, the first copies are produced and sent to you quickly thanks to our 3D printer park.
The advantages of the "POD" or "MOD
ELIMINATE THE RISK
OF INVENTORY
On-demand production is designed to produce only the quantity of products ordered, so you don't have to worry about overstock and leftover stock that you can't sell or use.
TEST THE MARKET
Particularly useful for companies testing new products. Simply test and modify the design to develop your product to best suit your market (unlike an injection moulded part that requires a mould to be produced).
TRY, ITERATE!
Traditional manufacturing can be daunting: high upfront costs, long lead times and many partners to orchestrate. On-demand production makes the industry more accessible.
NO STORAGE
Remaining stocks often leave no choice but to hold sales or offer large discounts to get rid of the surplus. On-demand production allows you to produce as little as possible and control your margins.
REACT QUICKLY TO TRENDS
Even in the merchandise industry, fashion changes quickly and it can be relevant to supply products in relation to events and societal trends. On-demand production allows you to be agile and produce products on short notice without investment in stock.
SHORT TURNAROUND TIMES
Traditional manufacturing often involves complex supply chains, which slows down operations. Our local manufacturing means shorter shipping times, which translates into fast customer service.
